Area Law Enforcement
Around fifty cars have been covered with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's city of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Cars, walls and postal boxes were marked, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they announced in a release.
Law enforcement state they were alerted late on Wednesday evening, when a resident noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored liquid.
The liquid had been placed in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they added.
Police then located many other vandalized vehicles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.
These symbols are illegal in Germany under regulations prohibiting the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.
Police state preliminary tests indicate the fluid was probably blood from a person.
"Currently there is no indication as to its origin; investigators are currently not aware of any harm in relation with the incident," they added.
City officials stated they were trying "to unravel the incident" and have asked to the public for tips.
A high-ranking official commented the incident left him without words and had to be addressed rapidly.
"This act strikes at the very heart of Hanau and revives the pain of the right-wing terrorist attack in 2020," he wrote on online, referring to the murder of nine individuals by a assailant aiming at people of foreign heritage in 2020.
