I'll overwhelm 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to promote next month's boxing match.

Ex two time world heavyweight champion Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I will damage his features and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to really want to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

Despite those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally recognized for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK opponent Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, consistently making huge paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would derail the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently being planned for 2026.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the customary face-off, with their physical disparity on show, it emphasized just how unlikely this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is truly proceeding.
