The Iconic Puzzle Game Couldn't Succeed at This Gaming Ceremony — An Additional Classification May Address This Issue

Each time a significant awards ceremony draws close, there’s always a clamor for introducing fresh award types to honor overlooked contributions and fill the passions of fans who have specialized interests.

Another commentator made the case advocating for terror-themed awards. It would be amazing. The same goes for tabletop games, this being someone's personal cause. Yet I need to apologize in advance for pushing forward just as with other dedicated enthusiasts, I possess a compelling case supporting my request remains most pressing and significant. The demand is this: We need an award type for logic-based games.

Organizing Gaming Categories

Categorizing art by genre isn't exact; opinions vary greatly, and typically spark debates concluding with vague boundaries. It's understandable that film award organizations avoid this approach. However, it represents an unavoidable compromise for the industry of video games, that demonstrate such variety it's challenging to consider them a single creative category.

To recognize the complete range of interactive entertainment excellence to receive acknowledgment, and to ensure all game types to have a chance for representation, classification by type becomes crucial.

Current Gaming Award Categories

Leading game ceremonies currently feature classifications covering Action-oriented games, Action/Adventure, RPG experiences, Fighting, Simulation and strategy titles, and Sports/Racing games. Together, these classifications successfully include many game types, making space possible accommodating various experiences.

This doesn't apply to puzzle games. There’s simply nowhere to accommodate them. Examine these examples from outstanding current releases, all very different: the architectural riddles of one title, the pulse-pounding block-matching of another game, and the sweetly sociological logic puzzles in another game. What category would fit them between these six categories? Unfortunately, nowhere.

Recognition Challenges

There are dozens excellent brain-teasers published annually lacking appropriate categories during gaming ceremonies, unless they happen to qualify classification types such as Mobile Game, VR/AR Game, or the intensely contested Indie races.

  • A renowned logic title wasn’t nominated completely during that awards season
  • A different innovative game missed out during that ceremony
  • Popular arranging title was overlooked recently
  • Only a few brain-teasers managed to sneak into niche award types

Value of Brain-Teasers

Frequently they represent modest productions, yet the craft in brain-teasers holds tremendous importance. Iconic mobile puzzle games rank among most popular titles worldwide continuing this trend for many years.

The legendary block-stacking game competes with well-known building titles competing to become most purchased experience; it additionally competes for best game of all time. Puzzle games are foundational within interactive entertainment, and they are in conversation with diverse game types.

Recommendation and Reasoning

Puzzle games wouldn’t have that issue. It would be easy to populate five nominees with fascinating, diverse, deserving games every year with ease — perhaps, with difficulty, because you’d have to leave many worthy titles.

To emphasize again, these represent titles lacking appropriate categories in important events. Logic title developers are working at the challenging frontier game development, creating some of the purest expressions within interactive entertainment. Comparable to cinema stunt performers, they deserve recognition. Let’s not keep them waiting generations.
